Hi guys.my cbz extreme got its rear tyre punctured recently. Thought will go for a replacement..but i was in for big trouble.i had called about 15 shops..plus the head office of mrf..they all replied in unison that they were facing a shortage of my tyre size which was 100/90*18 tubeless type.some shops had michellin, but those were the tube types.i dont want a tube type for known reasons nor do i want to change the stock tyre size.anyone knows about the new nv series from mrf?any reviews?couldnt find anything online.plus any info regarding alternative tyre brands,if there is any would be of much help.and does anyone know any shops around cochin where they might have a replacement.will the nv series hit the market anytime soon here?thanks in advance.

Hi Thamps

I am facing same problems. My dream neo has 80/100-18 tubeless tyres. I am not able to get that size from any company. I have roamed all over pune. Tubeless tyres in 18 inches is not available with Ceat, michelin, MRf and TVS.

The NV series of tyres is not tubeless. Also feedback of users on internet suggests that the NV series is good on dry surfaces and off roading. Not very good on wet tarmac and slush. This I have confirmed with MRF exclusive shop owners.

Best tyre for cbz 100/90 - 18 would be michelin sirac.

Had a terrible experience with the Michelin Pilot Street Radial 110/70 Front tire on my D200 which had MRF 110/70 as stock.

Turns out that even if the size is same for both the tires, the construction is totally different which provides in handling characteristic worlds apart. The Michelin is more like an Omega shaped whereas the MRF is more of a square-ish shape.

When I put on the Michelin, the bike wouldn't stay stable in a straight line at all and even in a small turn, it would feel almost like falling over. I couldn't even ride the bike for more than 50Kmph. Got it replaced with the MRF stock tire and the difference was huge. All the confidence was back and so was the stability.

• CBZ Tyre Help

Hey guys, I own a classic HH CBZ 43k kms 2003 model. I want to change my rear tyre, originally it came with Dunlop Geo cruiser 100/90 R18 56p. Since im from Mumbai I cant find this tyre anywhere. Been searching for the past 6months. In vain I searched the net to find zero results on this tyre with regards to purchases.

What are my options for the same profile?? I would love if I get the same brand new tyre No I don't want Sirac Street. Wudn't prefer CEAT,MRF,TVS.
Options in Michelin, Pirelli or any other brand?? My budget is around 2500INR.

Please suggest.
Thank u

.
Brother whats with omega shaped tyre ?
Heard this in PD's rc 200 review
And today was on a solo ride and found a nice curve leaned and to my surprise the rear violently jerked but didn't lose grip !
Was not hoping this from mrf
Tyre pressure when checked were normal and no punctures !

Hi bro... Good to hear that you have classic cbz...its almost extinct here in Mumbai...About the tyres those Dunlop tyres are antiques now. Its better to move with the new age tyres. MRF tyres are hard to find in market...just came to know from one shop that they have made tie up with major companies. So either go with michellin or ceat zoom, the later one are easily source able and offer good grip.

I and my friend recently changed too ceat zoom he bought 100/90 18' TT for his old Apache, and I got 120/80 18' TL for my ZMA. It cost 2200 for Apache and 3000 for me. Michellin is also available at around 2400, but bargain u can get a good deal. As u r from Mulund and cant find them anywhere go to Airoli and near Diva circle on right side to service road there you can find those ceat zoom.

Happy hunting & Ride safe.

Thank u for your inputs bro. But unfortunately none of the tyres to my liking are available. I thought atleast Michelin Pilot Sporty 100/90-18 wud be available as per my research on the internet. Even checked on changemytyre.com, sadly their response was negative about this one too.

Really wouldn't prefer MRF,TVS,Ceat. How about Pirellis?? I know they are tubeless and cannot be used on the classic cbz. I need a good looking tread pattern too :-D The profile that im looking for is available with Pirelli's but sadly tubeless.

Guys I'm urgently looking to change my tyre asap. Please help?? Any other brand other than Pirelli's ??

Ceat Zoom R 100/90 18 is a good tyre within your budget. It should suit the CBZ. I don't know why you don't prefer Ceat or MRF, both have reliable, good quality tyres.

May I know why? What is the intended usage that these above mentioned tires can't fulfill?

You can always put in a tube and treat it as a tube type tire. Beware of fake Pirellis though!

pioneeraron trust me there's no point neglecting what you can get...what Divya Sharan said is actually possible. Tomorrow I am getting CEAT secura zoom 80/100 TL, and after that I will be running both on TL.

Do you still have spoke rims on your cbz? You avoiding tubeless made me curious to ask this. If yes then there is no point in getting TL. In current situation 70% bikes are running on TL. There are many benefit of using TL, you can google them.

So think wise.

Thank u for ur reply guys.

Really didn't get good reviews about the tires I mentioned above.

Firstly yes I'm having spoke rims on the cbz. As divya mentioned , can I purchase a TL tire and fit in a tube and then use it?? Will it cause any problems to the ride, handling etc?

Also can I upsize to like 110/90 r18?? Will it cause any problems to the rim??

Inputs appreciated.
