Didn't you said to them ki ab bas yehi kaam reh gaya haih bar bar tyre ki complaint hi karte rahein, but still you got your tyre replaced that's the biggest thing, Ceat tyres are made of bit softer compoung as against Mrf so 2012 shouldn't be any issue, just ride few hundred kms sanely on your new tyre, let the tyre seat itself properly.

Real hard compound tyres wont grip in the wet at all, but slick tyres (read no/very few treads) even with soft compounds dont grip the surface in wet,
You need treads to 'pump' if I may, the water from under the tyres, failing which it would result in hydroplaning/aquaplaining (tyre rises over a thin layer of water and slips and slides = crash mostly)
Search for a tyre with soft/medium compound with some tread pattern unlike yamaha r15v2 tyres mrf revs (example)
These tyres may grip well even on wet and flat tarmac, but unfortunately our roads in the rains become a motocross trails course with sand, slush, gravel, water, shit, sewage and what not rubbish
No good in that.
Best wet weather tyres known by me are
110/17 ceat gripp xl
3.00/18 ceat grip
Ceat vertigo 100/17
Mrf meteor and mo grips in sizes 100/18, 3.00/18, 100/17, 3.00/17.
All these will be decent on wet roads.
All these are all terrain tyres, yet my advice would be to take it easy while it rains, enjoy the weather, stay safe and control that wrist till its sunny again.

The best wet weather tyres were michelin m45s and m35s etc Thailand make, even some iircs, you wont get them anymore

Most of the Tyre manufacturers makes universal tyres useable in every season, i don't think any company has got some special tyres for rainy season, or dry weather, dry weather tyres are made of harder compound(not slicks though) with nominal tread depth, wet weather tyres will be of softer compound or intermediate compound and with good tread depth and better design of tread to channel away from the tyre to prevent aquaplaining.

One of my friends is using Birla tyres on his motorcycle and is quite happy with the performance, but he notice that the tyre is of very softer compound and will wear out very very soon.

Divyansh: Bro, this change is only for this leh trip. I hope you remember me searching for CEAT tubeless. Couldn't find so. I need dual purpose tyres. Came across this yesterday only. Not so sure about this. Won't experiment on such a long ride. Will stick to the Geo Cruiser or Dunlop Monster Trail (if I manage to find one).

kusmaker: Not all Birla make tyres are soft compound tyres. I would appreciate some reviews/inputs on this specific tyre model only.

Dunlop trail is a good tyre, dunlop monster is a piece of crap:P
Geo cruizer was the stoxk tyre on a cbz I think initially bwas a little meduum compound then became dead hard.
Ceat vertigo tubeless would be best bet damm its not available anywhere
Michelin sirac is another option. Mrf metior tubeless should be your best friend right now, if your going with the dunlop one get the 110/18 tyres please

110/90 is difficult to source. Tyre supply in the 18" range has gone down drastically. God knows why. Michelin tubeless not available here. MRF Meteor - ll have a look at it today.

All bikes are now coming with 17 inch wheels
Tube type is still ok
Tubeless is just so hard to get
Ceat gripp 100/18 has a tube type variant only (still the best tyre for your purpose)
Hard luck man, just dont compromise grip for tubeless type.
Its better to have grip and carry an extra tube then to get s tyre that dosent grip on difficult roads of leh.

It means slowly and steadily most of the 18" will vanish from the market, and then we have to search for tyres also, as we search for spare parts right now, as same thing can happedn to tt also.

No no, it wont vanish its just that the options we had for 18s before the isi certiation rule was more,
Adding salt to wounds most bikes come with 17s now a days so naturally manufacturers will focus more on that lineup, we will always get tyres just not great over that we like.

Right now the best budget 100/18, and 3.00/18 is the ceat gripp.

Hmm just like the Mrf's Nylogrip.Ceat gripp has block like tread, isn't it that in summer heat or on uneven roads these small block (tread like barfi)treaded tyre will wear more from the corners of these blocks.
