Wow chrome quality in those days was just something else.
Pinaki sir had a diy rim saving (yes im gonna call it that....) in the splendor thread. Never the less if you cant find it dont worry I am posting a link.
    Here

    Now,
Just remove the tyres, use a steel wool or a sand paper to get rid of the rust,
the spokes that have rusted can be replace with new spokes for about 6 rs a piece,
this will also be a good opportunity to recrify any bends in the rims.
A good idea would be to paint the inner surface with red anti rust or brown anti rust.
Then give it 2 good layers of paint
To polish the chrome grab a tube of chrome polish (rs 28) and rub the rims with it and an old cloth to bring out the shine. Can be used in your handlebars and exhaust too.
If the spoke mounting holes and the air filling hole has rusted too much I will suggest you to replace the rim and spokes. Your tyre hub can be kept the same! A very rusted rim and spoke causes more punctures than the bad road but I suppose its not the case in your bike, since your tyre lasted a lot.
But first try to see if it can be fixed....
Personally I think hour rims are fine and just have superficial surface rust in thr inner sides. And spokes just need some polishing up. Its perfect and I wouldn't replace it unless it was a safety hazard.

    Now for some useless info

My bike is 11 years old and has spoke wheels too:P make is hero honda. (Bajaj used hero honda spokes in those times, same as the cbz star)
Best chrome quality spoke wheels came with the tvs fiero. I will replace my rims with original fiero rims in the winter. Tvs fiero wheels were galvanised and then chrome plated and then shot with a clear chrome protector. They just dont rust and loose their shine.

And also good news, all genuine yamaha rx100 spares and rd350 spares are available at yamaha svc but they are quite costly.

All of the rx100 parts are quite expensive i think company is taking leverage of the fact that rx is in great demand, and hence they are charging exorbidant price for every single spare, there was quite a lot of rust when last time my bike's wheel was opened for puncture repairing, at that time also i did some cleaning but not to a great effect, and i doubt that whether the spokes can be open, spokes are there for almost 20 yrs,and to open them they had to be cut open, and if i do cut them then surely i will have to purchase new rim because the newer spokes are thicker in diameter and so is the spoke holes compared to the spokes currently fixed on the bike, is it advisable to chrome plate the spokes, the chrome polish that you have mentioned, is that the name of the polish, because there are lots of polishes available in the market so pls give some more details like what brand it is and on what kind of shops is this polish available,on hardware shop,or lubricants selling shop

        that's the most useful info
are these fiero wheels that you are talking still available, and are these wheels still manufactured the same way that you have mentioned, i think fiero wheel size was also 18", and then these can be used on my yamaha also, if you don't find it troublesome when you purchase these rims for yourself then pls purchase one set for me also.

Yes the company is asking exorbitant prices but then its atleast giving you what you want
Not advisable to chrome plage spokes.... they are not worth it.
If you are adament on saving those wheels you can but according to me its of no use.
You can keep the same hub and purchase the spokes and rim only.
Yes fiero rims are readily available and are the best. Yes they are 18s.
I will enquire about prices on my next visit to mullick bazar.

The chrome polish I am taking about is made by pidilite I think and the name is chrome shine. I bought one 2 years ago for 28 rs and it was very nice.

Rims wirh spoke should cost around 450 a wheel and your original hub can be retained. Original yamaha made spojes and wheels are also available in kolkata I think.

No,iam not adamant just wanting to keep my bike as much stock as i can, but if they are not saveable i will go for the new one, and yes pls let me know the price of these tvs wheels, whenever you visit the market, originals are also available here in delhi, but not of that quality which was coming earlier, and as you mentioned that tvs rims are best then why not buy the best, and are you sure that the polish is of pidilite brand because i was checking pidilite site and they haven't shown any chrome polish in there catalogue.

yes im sure it was pidilite since it was a small tube made of metal like old boroline tubes. Turtle chrome polish is 1465rs
              I will ask again.
As far as I know the following brands you wil get easily
              Brasso multipurpose metal polish
              Surya metal polish
              Pitambari multipurpose metal polish
              Dhara metal polish
              Autosol has a chrome polish
              Simichrome polish is also there.
If you cant find chrome polish with any hardware store ask a jwellery for chrome polish they also have it, sterling silver etc are all polished using chrome polish amazingly.

If all else fails get a newspaper and colgate toothpaste rub the colgate toothpaste generously on the chrome exhaust and rubb it hard with the news paper. Put a drop of water if required but avoid using too much water:P use a wet cloth to wipe it and see the result. you will be surprised with all this toothpaste rubbing.

hey guyz...im looking for a tubeless tires of the size : 100/90-18 for my RTR-160.
Currently Im using TVS tires and it has crossed 30k.
Im looking for dual purpose tires. The Michelin Siracs are coming in tubetype nowadays.
Is it like dual purpose tires normally come in tube-type?
Any idea of any dual purpose tubeless tires which come in the above mentioned size?

You dont get dual purpose soft compound tyres anymore
You will have to live with medium compounds
                  Fortunately you have options like
The michelin sirac and sirac street (not there in tubeless as fsr as I know)
                  Mrf meteor.
Ceat vertigo (would be my best bet but again tube type!)
If I were you I would gonwith these. Tubeless no idea

I think mrf vyde or mrf zapper Q would be the best bet for soft compound.

Haven't used ceat or dunlop soft compounds.

For 110/80-18, PSD is a good option. For 110/90-18 MRF ZapperQ. Sorry I don't have ready specs at hand for 110 profile tires in 17 inches.
