Its medium compound and lasts ok ish.
But its a very good tyre.
Sand makes it a little uneasy.
Thats it.
Keep pressure around 35 to 36 and its happy

If your sure about the thiland make then buy it
I was almost conned once.
Imho the tyre wil last about 10 to 15 k kms and 5700 is quite expensive but if its ok with you buy it eyes closed thiland made michelin tyres are soft compound

I know pilot sporty have fishtail and they skid but will they affect in front tyre?

.
Try to score a mrf revz or fz front tyre or yamaha r15v2 front tyre
Now differentiating is very difficult
Thailand make wil be softer compund, heavier, wont hav an isi mark as far as I knw.
I was given a fake once..

• Stock Tyre replacement - RTR 160 (2012) Model

Hi People,

I had real bad experiences with the TVS tires, considering the fact that its high time and monsoon's soon arriving looking for a tyre replacement.

My stock size is 110/80/17 (Rear) & 90/90/17 (Front), though I looked for similar size of tyres but it was disappointing. As, I really could not find the exact fit, considering the market availability I could only manage to find tyres of sizes, 120/80/17, 100/80/17.

Considering the fact I would not want to go for 120/80/17 as, I do not want to compromise on Performance and Mileage. The only options left open is 100/80/17, my only concerns are:
1. Will tyre size of 100/80/17, compromise on the ability of cornering?
2. Will I loose stability, at high speeds?
3. Will there be a rise or fall in Performance & Mileage?

Also would like to know, what brand Do I go for?
1. Ceat
2. Michelin
3. MRF

I managed to find the exact fitment for the Front ones.

Thank you for your Valuable comments.

Brother what is ment here is tvs now makes the tyres for michelin.
Hence tvs made michelins are not as good as the original michelin make.
Also new michelins are harder compound and have isi marks, and they are made in india.

2. Will I loose stability, at high speeds?( again same as above)
3. Will there be a rise or fall in Performance & Mileage?( top smeed may vary depending on height of tyre, but overall milage and performance will increase)

Also would like to know, what brand Do I go for?

Hello everyone,,
Im owning an RTR160 2010 make and looking forward for tyre change for the very first time. Although the experience of TVS Tyres was not that bad its life is good but lacks grip in rainy roads,so i would like to chose some other options from the market. My stock size is 100/80-18(rear),can i jump to 120/80-18 directly? Will it hamper the performance of my bike alot?
So guys please suggest me some good options keeping my interst in concern...
Thanks in advance,,

If it was an rtr 180 It would not mske such a difference
But its an rtr160
If it was me I would get the r15 v1 rear tyre. Best you can get this side of the pirellies.
Guaranteed.

I own a RE tb350 finished 10000 km. I wanted to change my wheels to alloy wheels and tubeless tyres.

My mech suggested against going for alloy wheels.. Saying spokes will have much better shock absorbing properties..

But I like the puncture resistance of tubeless tyres better.

Any experienced members please help Me out..

Your mechanic is right, spokes do absorb shocks better than alloys, plus you can get them adjusted easily if they go out of alignment, same cannot be said for alloys.
And personally I feel spokes suit Thunderbird more.

paradoxx I agree, and I don't want to spoil the spoked look either, but in case of a flat, it's crazy to fix it on this heavy bike.. Just impossible to push this 200kg bike.. And I could use some breathing time before I get the puncture fixed.

I am not much worried about the looks, because I think I can find nice looking rims, but if performance is q concern.. That puts me in a real fix...

If you really are wanting alloys you can check the ones on Continental GT. They are aluminium alloys but are designed in spoke form. Should give you best of both worlds.
