I think these tires have still not hit the market, i enquired at multiple vendors in bangalore, but no one knows about it. Even the website does not show any information about it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR WISHES TO ALL.

I am planning to replace the rear tyre of my HH Hunk.Hope the current gen Hunk are coming with Tubeless tyres. Can tubeless tyres be fitted with old model(2007) Hunk without any modifications to the alloys wheels and is it a worthy modification?. How much does the MRF rear tubeless tyres cost in Bangalore. I have seen in few review sites that even tubes are put inside the tubeless tyres. Does it really serve any purpose or is such a case possible?

Here are some pics of the CEAT Zoom XL 140/70-17 H rated rear tyre which I got installed on my 200 yesterday.
The first thing I noticed was increased ride height , which is good. The tyres are still new as I've clocked just 30-40 kms on this one , but the grip is better than the Eurogrips especially while tipping the bike into a corner.
Took the bike out for a spin on the highway & I noticed that the speed of the bike is increased i.e on the Eurogrips , I used to hit 100 kph @ 7k RPM & 70 @ 5k RPM but now the bike attains 105 @ 7k & 74 @ 5k rpm. Also , this one gives better feedback than the Eurogrip & the bike feels more planted especially @ high speeds.

Congratulations, the tyres look good. What was the price? How did you get them fitted? Local mech or machine fitting?

Costs around 3200-3400 bucks with installation.
And I don't really know how they fitted it as I wasn't around.

I'm still confused and I can't find the REVS Z tyre anywhere. Looks like I'll have to get the michelin one. Is the michelin one bad in terms of grip compared to the MRF one?
No, Michelin isn't bad compared to MRF, indeed it's slightly better than the MRF series.

Unfortunately there ins't a detailed review of such a tire here in our forum. But you can be rest assured, these are very soft compound tyres and you can imagine the roads they are being used abroad, so it should last. But here in India, the roads are worse, at times, and on a normal well maintained highway those should be a bliss, (from the reviews read) other than that, don't even think of slight off roading of any sort, and yes softer compounds do get to get punctured real soon.

I am running my Classic 500 on stock tyres (run approx 12k) which are MRF and the rear has had two punctures so far and grip as known is nothing to rely on, especially on wet tarmac. I wanted to know if there is a good replacement for the rear tyre which are of size 120/80-18". The existing tyre holds good on dry roads and is robust enough on bad roads too but grip and control are lacking. So I need to know if anyone has tried some alternatives in MRF or other brands which can meet the requirements.
Try Michelin Pilot Spory, Pirelli SD if avlbl or Dunlop Monster.

A TT is changed to TL purely because of puncture issues. For example a tubeless tire gets frequently punctured then one can change to tube type and vice versa. But tubeless are always good and have the upper hand for simplicity, ease of use and reliability. Also, a tube tire can be changed to tubeless "IF" the rim structure allows it to be. Most alloys which are tubed can be changed to tubless. I don't know about swapping an older HUNK to newer HUNK, but it being an alloy, it's always worth a try.

                  Cheers!

                    • Need help regarding an issue with my Fazer!

Its been two years since i bought it, now the both Tyre are leaking air and in a day its coming down to 15-16. The tyres are not getting flat, like in case of punctures,so i am confused. I wanted to know whether it can be fixed in yamaha service centers or not? I get my service done from Bangalore Wheels. Please let me know if there is a better service center in Bangalore.

Yes the modern day SIRAC are harder compounds and tend to crack and it's the old ones that were softer compounds and offered good grip. But that's the way SIRAC holds now.

                          Hi all,

The 150/60 R17 MRF RevZ on my Duke is 11k old and I'm thinking of changing it to something with more grip. Metzelers are ruled out simply due to the cost.

My primary requirement is good grip. I'm tired of losing grip mid corner especially on broken roads. (Do we have any other kind of road in bangalore?!)

                          Life expectancy is 10K.

I normally prefer knobby tires because they work better on broken roads. I do not mind downsizing to 140 if need be. Saw a Vee Rubber shod Duke on the forum and loved it.

If nothing works out, I'll have to get stock MRF. I don't know if they offer more grip when new. (I bought my duke pre-owned)

Any options? I would really appreciate any help I can get.

                          Thanks all!

If possible you can try the Dunlop Tuff grip 140 or the Zapper Zapper S R15 V 2.0 tyre series. See most MRFs Zapper S are semi soft compounds, they are neither slicks nor hard, they are usually a combination of both. Or if possible you can consider Michelin.

The stock tyres on Duke are really good. One of the best tyres from MRF side.
Also, as our good mod has said, you can opt for R15v2's tyre. They are also real good in both dry and wet condition. Don't know about the rest.

                                Hello guys,

Just felt like sharing with you all an experience of mine. Currently my pulsar 150 is running with mrf zapper vyde 120/80r17 and michelin pilot sporty 100/80-17 front. Combining front amd rear I have changed tyres for atleast 8 times. I have used pirelli sport demon, Michelin pilot sporty with tube, tvs chakra, dunlop tuff grip, ceat vertigo. Lastly I was using pirelli sd 130/80r17. I wasnt getting the desired feedback what I got from pirelli sd 130/70r17. After using it for around 10000kms it started rubbing with chain. The final adjustment was reached, so I had to change the tyre even I wasn't much willing to change it. After a lot of RnD I went for mrf zapper vyde 120/80r17. Till now I have ridden only 40kms but the tyre is giving me awesome feedback. Something which I expected from my pirelli. I could remember having a same or better feedback when I went for pirelli sd 130/70 r17. I was little jaw down that I had to let pirelli go but this mrf has started putting a long awaited smile back to my face. More miles to go lets hope for the best.
