  • Re: Tyres

Need help guys.. Rear tyre of my R15 V2 is up for replacement now and after all the research I have narrowed down to Pirelli SD 130/70 R17. My requirement is mostly long trips which will include good amount of off roading too (Spiti trip coming up in next year). I want good wet grip also as I ride a lot in rains too (of course as and when it does rain) .
Budget not being an issue, do suggest me any better options for my R15. Of course I am not at all keen on changing the dimensions of stock tyre.

Micheline radial is available in 110/70/17 ,130/70/17 , 140/70/17.It is a radial isi marked tyre sold with bill & warranty & has amazing grip levels so why bother with PSD which is probably 2/3 years old.

So I am looking to replace my stock TVS tyres for the CBR150R with PSD's. Will be replacing both front and back, the sizes are 110/70/17 and 130/70/17. Now, both these tyres are available in PSD's for sure, but i havent been able to find them online on Indian sites. Does anyone have any contact of the places in Banglore than stock Pirelli's?
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!
PSD are difficult but still available, if you cannot find them at all, PM me

I would advise to stick to the stock ! PSD wouldn't give u as good wet grip as the Stock, i have friends who used PSD and then shifted back to stock !

It gives exceptional grip with the Ninja's added weight ! I did the Mumbai- Zanskar-Leh- Manali ride on this ! Superior wet grip, exceptional cornering grip

It doesn't do well on slush !

Michelin is a good tire, but R15 V1 and V2's stock tires are some of the best in India, especially the R15 V1s which were designed hand in hand especially for the bike and the V2 has the REVZ series at the rear which excellent and bloody grippy. I'd suggest you to use the same stock if you have the R15 or Michelin Pilot Spoty but nothing other than that. Michelin Sirac Street isn't as good and many users have reported the same.

                        Cheers!

                          Hey guys,
After completing 6k kms on stock tvs tyres, I am completely fed up with the tyres as the girp is worst and I also had an accident due to poor girp in wet conditions.
I own an apache and I want to upgrade to better tyres.

Please suggest some good tyres for apache

                          Tyre size :
                          Front : 90/90 - 17
                          Rear : 110/80 - 17

                          Thanks in advance.

P.S - are Michelin pilot sports available in the above mentioned size?

Yes you can use the MPS on the rear and it's available in 110/80 x 17. TVS tires aren't meant for pure grip, they are meant to last long and LONG. You can consider Ceat series of the MRF zapper for the front and stick to Michelin Pilot Sport 110/80 x 17.

                            Cheers!
