Can I know the best BUDGET options for a 17'' rim? Would spend a maximum of 2600Rs.

PS: I would like something that can last atleast 15-20k kms.
At 2600 you can get these tyres which are really good for 17 inchers.
-MRF Zapper VYDE (would last 17-20k,soft compound superb grip)
-MRF Zapper C (would last more, medium compound good wet grip too)
-CEAT Vertigo Rage/Sports (Sports is offroading thing)
    -EUROGRIPS typically hard compound

        Hi,
I am running Pirelli psd 110/80 in my rtr 160 for 12k kms. So far I had 4 punchers, drop in pressure upto 15 psi every week. It was frustrating but had to live with it bcos spent too much for Pirelli. Recently came to know of " vijay wheel alignment Center " in j p nagar 3rd phase. Anybody has past experience with them? I don't mind spend little more on it .

        Thanks

          • My personal experience/review of Michelin Pilot Sporty tubelss

I own a 2012 Yamaha Fazer that did 50,000 kms. The front tyre had worn out and I wanted to change it before raining season started. Sicne I drive carefully and defensively, I wanted a tyre that performs better in the wet conditions compared to the stock tyre MRF Zapper FX. I read encouraging reviews on the internet about how it sticks to the road even in wet conditions. So finally I purchased and fitted this tyre for Rs. 1618 from Premji's Tyre Plus located in Kapurbawadi Thane. This was done is early May or late April. The rains were yet to begin. So far, the tyre impressed me with its performance on dry surfaces, especially while cornering or taking sharp turns. I was eager to test this tyre on wet roads though. One fine day while I had been out for a small joy ride, I encountered a big stretch of wet road on the Eastern express highway(between Teen Haat naka and Nitin junction). The water had come from a leaking tanker-lorry which was supposed to water the plants on the decorated dividers. I decided to test the tyre. The only safety gear I had on me was my Steelbird Zorro helmet. Having ridden 50K kms, I had sufficient experience to use front brake in wet conditions. So I went ahead and progressively pulled the lever. To my shock, the front tyre locked up and started skidding. The handle was deflected and not pointing in the straight direction the bike was going. Know how to handle this situation, I quickly released the brake level and regained control of the bike without any casualties. I though to myself that this must be an one-off incident and that I may have applied the brakes in a wrong manner(even though this is not likely as I am too experienced to commit such a blunder). After few day, I had another shock. I was riding my bike around 70, and there came a small patch of wet surface on the same highway near Nitin-Cadbury flyover. The water had come from the washing and cleaning of the vehicle that are parked under this flyovers. To my shock, as soon as my bike crossed the wet path, I sensed that it has momentarily lost traction(the drifting sensation you get suddenly). I still decided to ignore it. Finally, the same was repeated a couple of days ago when I decided to test it again. People in Mumbai and Thane may know it has been drizzling or frankly raining during the last couple of days, especially after midnight. I was again out on a small joy ride on the eastern express highway from Vikhroli Godrej towards Thane. It had rained only in the stretch after the mulund-airoli junction. Since I was keen to test, I slowed down to twenties(using only my rear drum brake) and braked progressively. I was shocked when I found that the tyre skidded effortlessly and readily. I am sure that I made no mistake in braking. I am too experienced to commit a blunder like that and moreover, that was no panic situation.

So I have concluded that this Michelin Pilot Sport tyre simply cannot perform a bit compared to the stock MRF Zapper FX tyres. The MRF tyres were awesome. Today, I am going to get this tyre changed. I simply do not want to risk my and my fiances life(we are fond of riding together).

Michelin Pilot Sport is the worst tyre a defensive rider could buy.

Also, the illustrative images that can be found on the internet are misleading. Of all the images found on the internet, they show that there are oblique treads running across the wide of the tyre and across the midline of the tyre. But the tyre which I have bought has a remarkably distinct pattern. While there are oblique treads, they are short and do not cross the midline anywhere. There are also two circumferential gross, located slightly away from the centre of the tyre - one groove on the left side, one of the right side.

My verdict: Michelin Pilot Sporty is a waste of time, money, effort and easily cause danger to your life, especially those who blindly trust the manufacturers claim about great wet handling. Please do not buy this tyre for heavens sake.

That brings me to the conclusion that ALL Michelins are pathetic and dangerous in wet conditions. Im planning to change my Street Siracs too. The rains are here.

Guys just went to the puncture wala after looking at a flat tyre on my r15.
The air is leaking from the side wall on my bike. The guy said the rim is bent and thus it is letting the air our however i didnt see much visual change.

I will be going to the service center in an hour. What are my options here?
Would i need to change the rim?

Rim Bent is getting so common these days.
The cheapest way is to get a Tube inside for the time being. Then start finding if Rim Bent is repaired or if you can get the replacement or something that suite's you.

Thats what the bloke suggested mate. E told me to put some x company tube which he reffered to as orignal for a sum of 400 rs.
                                Just a couple of questions.
Would it be a good idea?if yes which tube would you refer.
Would it affect the handling or the performance of my bike?
