Its just about checking tyres every week. Thats it.

Lappu Bhaiya, ye Voye kya hai...But I am still confused about this 4.00 v. 100 section, can anyone link up to a proper chart..

There are basically three designations for identifying tyre types - Metric Designation, Inch Designation and Alphabetical designation. 100 comes under Metric designation while 4.00 comes under Inch designation. Alphabetical designation has something like MT/MR/MH where M is for motorcycle, T/H/R indicates tire width code etc.

This is my first post on this thread,i want to change the tyres of my pulsar 200 NS,i wanted to know if i can change them to the ones on the r15 v2,will it affect the handling of the bike because i think there is a slight differnce in size of the tyres,i was thinking of goin for the ktm tyres, but my friend told me that they skid on wet roads,so please advice me as to which tyres which be the best upgrade for my pulsar 200 NS both front and back,i dont want to ever skid again, the stock Eurogrip tyres are denying me the pleasure of enjoying the riding experience of such a wonderful bike...

          R15 tyres are
designed like KTM tyres....although to a lesser extent....and you can definitely change to ones from duke........they are good....have ridden friend's ns with duke tyres.....they are just fun...
          Cheers

He was right I guess.....you wont get enough clearance with 110 tyres on a unicorn....it comes stock with so puny tyres.....guess you should better try 100/80 or 100/90 in 18"

Both are the best tyres from MRF......r15 v2 n duke's tyres are both soft compounds and grip well.......but r15 v2 rear is puncture prone compared to duke's rear....and I have used r15 v2 tyres on my pulsar 150..they are good... ..my friend is using duke's on his p200ns.....they would work better on an ns being slightly fatter.....usually we dont decrease the size...but increase it....so on ns you can use r15 v2 rear though puncture prone....but I would say dont use that front.....and as far as cost is concerned.....
              R15 v2 front Zapper fy1 is INR1700
              R15 v2 rear Zapper is INR2800
              Duke front is INR2000
              Duke rear is INR3000
And I am also thinking to upgrade to a 150 rear section with fz rims after my current rear on p150..that is zapper vyde 120 section....
And on the p220f am using rear contigos and front stock.

After using the Michelin Pilot Sporty 100/80-17 for about 4K kms, the place where this tyre FAIL is on wet corners. There is absolutely NO grip. Every other condition its OK. And its quite poor in slush as well.

Sirac comes in 120/90 for the 220 and I am running the last Sirac sold at a reasonable price in Bangalore.

The Pilot Sport is running on the front and its absolutely not the tyre to have on wet corners, scary experience while it rained in Ooty last week.

Actually a 100 front makes an agressive 'V' profile...so there is no contact patch left.....

Not really! It depends on the rim width the tyre is designed for.

The 100/80 Pilot Sporty on the 220 is OK in dry, but scary in wet. Its more of a compound issue, and considering that Michelin's made in India are actually made by TVS, there is no wonder these tyres aren't that great in wet conditions.

I was talking it for the p220 rim thats not so widened like the r15v2 or fz......have tried a zapper fx 100section front and I know what heck of problem it is.......pilot sporty in 90/90 was one of the best tyres I used so will not say that the tyre is bad. .....

Thanks Parth.. but it comes with 100/90-18 as stock so I thought there should be some margin as to fit 110? At least after looking at the distance between existing tire and chain cover, there seems to be a decent gap but still wanna confirm if anybody of you have seen any Unicorn with 110 section tire? I don't want to buy it and regret it later if it doesn't fit at all.

Bro I have seens Unis with 130 section rear tyres..... But all they had was a modified swingarm.....if you want no nonsense when upgrading tyre size do look out for 110/80 not 110/90 as 110/80 will be a difference of -0.6% and that 110/90 will make a difference of 2.8% ........go some pages back and I have posted how much even a 2% matters....and how it made me to center the wheel and remove chainguard on my p150....though now I can easily go for 150
