    • Guys help me here. I have a P150 done 10k kms. Upsized my rear tyre to MRF Zapper VYDE 120/80-17 which has serious issues touching the chain guard. I went for adjustments and noise was reduced. Slight noise still there. The mechanic says he would have to heat and alter the swingarm or cut the portion of chainguard which touches the tyre. What should I do ?
Though am not in favor of swingarm alteration as it may affect rigidity and balance.
      Help me ASAP
And one more query. For the front I am purchasing Zapper FY1. Will it touch somewhere ??

        Should i go with the the R15 front 80/90-17 (V1) or 90/80-17(V2)?
People claim 90/80 tyre is much better...which tire is best suited to my bike?
        stock size is
        front 80/100 17inch.
        rear 110/80 17inch
        please help.

Yeah V2 front 90/80-17 is better. I remember FY diving left under hard braking. FY1 always went straight on my friends R15.

        • Any suggestions for Duke 200??
          The stock tyre being 150/60 R and 110/70 F.
Im thinking of on/off road tyres. More clinging towards off road. Adventure touring has been my priority always. Any suggestions would surely help.
Ive seen Ceat 120/80 for rear at a local shop here. Any more for the duke you guys can suggest.
And another query is if i go with the Ceat tyres with 120/80 config. will it effect the tire air pressures.

          • Fixing up an old enduro bike. Needs help with Rim (spokes only) and tyre sizes.

Plan to go for 3.0-18 front and 110/90-18 tyres..high probability Michelin Sirac Street.

Any options on the rim sizes. Hero Honda, TVS, Honda have rim width of 2.15j whereas the pulsar has 2.5j. Looking for alternatives that offer me bigger rim sizes.

            Setup objectives -
            1. Nice off-road capabilities and and wet conditions.
            2. Greater contact patch for on-road use.
            3. Medium compound / soft compounds. (Tyre life Vs my life is a no-brainer).

            Cheers,

            • Suggest front tire for Yamaha Fazer (100/80-17)

              Folks,

I have completed 50,000 kms on March 2012 purchased Yamaha Fazer. The front tire has worn out and the tread depth is very shallow now. I need to replace within 45 months, i.e before the rains start here in Mumbai!

The manufacturer specification is tubeless 100/80 x 17.

Should I replace with the same brand/manufacturer as that of stock(some MRF product) or is there any better(and/or expensive) replacement? I am an active tourer on bad roads, and a speeder on wide highways. I am good at using the front brake :-)

              Suggest accordingly. Thank you.

                Hello Bikers!
I have bought Bajaj Discover 125 ST a month back and overall it seems to be a good bike. However, this bike comes with Kenda tyres. Thanks to these, I have ended up skidding twice in a month on the dusty gravel filled Pune roads! Situation is such that I am scared of braking now..

I am planning to replace the tyres this weekend and need your opinions as to which would be recommended pair of tubed tyres with good grip for:

                Front - 2.75 x 17
                Rear - 3.00 x 17

As I mentioned, I generally ride the bike on the Pune roads (which I am not sure if I should call as tarmac or gravel road)

                Cheers!

Any suggestions for rear tyre options for my Pulsar 135LS?

Though my experience with my bike has been largely problem-free, I would like to have your views on a issue which is troubling me. While riding when I pass over loose gravel or small pieces of stone, the rear tyre shows a tendency of skidding. Although I have never skidded completely, this worries me. I believe this is due to the tyre(MRF Zapper C). I am thinking of changing the rear tyre to MRF MotoD, but not sure.

                        Please advise.

Yes you can go for offroad motoD from MRF though if you want tarmac grip then avoid it.
On the front you can use Zapper FY1...i got it for 1700 at MRF outlet (r15 v2 front tyre). It just grips and grips and grips man.

                          • Tubeless Tyre for Classic 350 Possible?

                            Hi everyone,

I own a RE Classic 350 and completed 18K+ in my bike. I often do a lot of road trip's like chennai to ooty, Chennai to bangalore and other places. Monthly once or twice I do go to my hometown which is pondicherry in my bike from chennai. Till now I never had a flat tyre I use MRF Nylogrip Zapper (Stock tyre with tube) and it never
disappointed me in any situation. But Whenever I do long ride that to Solo ride I always pray that i should not get a flat tyre. I'm planning to change it to Tubeless tyre Is it possible to upgrade my tyre to tubeless? Have anyone used tubeless tyre in their Classic 350, 500? Will the tubeless tyre can withstand the weight of my bike which is 182+KG? Need suggestions please

                            Thanks,
                            Vishwa

Is Michelin Pilot Sporty a good choice? There is one 100/80- 17 M/C 52P PILOT SPORTY IND F TL.

Can somebody please explain what 52 P (load index) means? My bikes maximum speed is below 120 KMPH, and the maximum pillion + rider weight it usually carries is less than 160 kgs.

Update: Unless anyone now suggests otherwise or some other brand, I have sub-zeroed upon Michelin Pilot Sporty 100/80 - 17 (mention above).

I chanced upon a review of it which seems genuinely genuine --> http://hondacg125.awardspace.com/mic...lot_sporty.htm
