        • Tyre change for discover 125 st?

          Hi,
I just bought Bajaj Discover 125 st. I am extremely happy with the entire package except one, the rear tyre. It's very skinny. Apart from grip issue in rainy days, it makes my bike look like a damn cb twister when seen from behind.
Can I change the rear tyre. I am a total noob about mike modifications. I heard that mileage and pickup can decrease with even a slightly wider tyre. I dont know much about tyres but can a MRF Zapper C or Zapper Y work out well? What will be approximate cost of this change?

I am new to this forum. My Yamaha FZ (2010 model)has recorded 26000 km in the odo and I am planning to change my tyres .It has already been 10 punctures on my tyre( 8 +2 on the same area). Now I that I have learnt how to repair the puncture myself I am happy that I am not paying more. In the last two weeks I have got 3 punctures so I am thinking of changing my tyres. I don’t want to go with the MRF Stock tyres as it is always prone to punctures. After reading a lot of reviews I am thinking of going for Continental Contigo tyres for both front 100/80- 17 and rear 140/70-17.The tyres are available for Rs.4440/- online in changemytyres.com.Please suggest me whether I should go with this option or any other choice of tyres.

              Thanks and Regards,

              • Got my tires changed from MRF zappers to Michelin sirac street. I was wondering whether the sirac street are soft compound tires or hard compound tires. Can anyone tell me the average life expectancy of the siracs??

                • Rear tire change for CBF Stunner

                  Hello guys,

I need your help in deciding which rear tire is best for my CBF Stunner? It's run for almost 21.5K Kms and still running on the stock TVS tires (tubeless). These tires have very good puncture resistance as so far I have never faced any puncture with them but they have got a very bad grip. On tarmac, they are just average but its the loose soil and water where it has got no grip. Also, at the time of hard braking, fishtails are common with these. The tire specification is 100/90 55P 17 inch tubeless. Please suggest a tire with the same specification. I ride my bike mostly on Delhi roads and rarely, I go on long drives and off-roading at the time of any trip to mountains :P . I would need a tire which has got good grip on road as well as loose soil and water but should not be very puncture prone. I have found Zapper C so far. Michelin Pilot Sporty also has the same specification but not sure if its tubeless or tube type. Also, changemytyre.com suggests that Continental ContiGo also has the same specification and is available with them but I don't know how this one performs in off-roading and wet conditions.

Just one more query, what could be the average life of chain of CBF? It is a 2009 model and has full chain cover. It has run 21.5K Kms and I am not sure if it needs to be changed or not?
P.S.: I am a newbie and still learning.

                  Thanks.

me too looking for tyre change. Done 28k on odo with tvs tyres they have become almost useless. It losses traction even in dry tarmac now. Got some reviews on net. Use hard or medium compound only as your riding asks for it. Zapper C is hard compound but gives better grip than tvs. Zapper's wet performance is only OK but still better than tvs. Contigo's are softer compound (as per the reviews on net) don't know how soft. Dunlop also makes good tyres.. I've not checked any tyres at shop so can't recommend you any. Sorry.P.S. Me too looking for hard-medium compound.

                      • @Honda_CBF: I have checked on multiple websites for Stunner's rear tire and so far, I have found only MRF Zapper-C and continental ContiGo. Ceat Vertigo is also available in this size but I don't think it's got very good grip on tarmac. It's off-road grip is execellent though and is one of the favorite tire for riders going to Ladakh. Michelin Pilot Sporty is only available in Tube type. I have checked on the website changemytyre.com and found only Ceat, MRF and Continental tyres. I have not yet checked on any tire shop in the market. Totally confused now because as per the reviews, Zapper-C is a good tire but its off-road grip is a bit doubtful to me whereas ContiGo is soft compound tire and has a very good grip on off-road surface as well but being soft compound, its more puncture prone. I am looking for medium compound tire as I think this one would be the best for me.

I am going to change my stock tyres in Karizma R with Tubeless tyres. Anyone please tell me which is a right tubeless tyre for R (does not effect the mileage), few dealers address those able to install tyre properly and most important they perform same as factory fitted or less in performance....

                          • Little confused!

For the Pilot Sporty 90/90-17 front tyre,

Michelin India website shows this - Click!

But when I saw in a shop I saw this - Click! (and this was what is posted by someone on this thread a few pages back)

Which is the right tyre? If its the first one I might just think of picking it up. But the second tyre shown is a little to road oriented i.e. more rubber, less tread

                            EDIT :

Got a response from changemytyre guys -

                            Hi Praful

Yes the tread pattern is the same as shown in our website picture of Michelin pilot sporty.

                            regards
