It'll not affect the mileage but it might improve the mileage about 2-3kmpl due to decrease in tyre weight..
If you want to increse the dia then go with CBR250R tyre here in chennai i'm seeing lot of FZ guys using CBR tyre.

    • Got the Michelin

Bought the Michelin 3.00X17"( Rear) Pilot sporty for my Bajaj Discover . The tyre looks quite puny andnot as wide as my Ceat Secura Zomm looked. I am still exploring the tyre capabilities, but have read good reviews about the same. I'll update once I get more Kms on the bike.

BTW I paid 1850+tube (Dunlop) at Vishal Tires Hadapsar Pune.

Thanks to all those who cleared my doubts.

      Cheers,

      • This Sunday went to spectate the Time Trials at the Budh International Circuit (BIC) as one of my friend (xbhpian) was riding on the track. And BIC will be organising the next event soon and I can't hold myself of not participating in it (if all goes well). So just want some views on the best tyre (RTR 180) available for track. Is stock good enough for dry track or any other options (MRF, IRC, Pirelli).

            • zapper C vs zapper vyde

Have MRF made any changes to the compound of Zapper C?

Today i visited a tire shop and when i did a finger nail press test on both the tyres i found the Zapper C to be much softer than the zapper vyde!

Is it true that MRF might have softened the compound of Zap C a bit since its used in P220 as a soft compound? Or is it just my perception?

I am an a dilema as to which tyre to choose.I had my mind fixated on Zapp vyde since i believed it to be softer than C.But today's occurance has created doubt in my mind.

              Experts,please suggest!

They don't change the compound easily after a lot of testing only they released the Zapper C with that compound. If they change the compound means they'll release in a new name.it's all your perception.
If you are planing for a soft compound tyres why dont you try Pirelli & Michelin

But then when Bajaj released the new P220,they marketed the Soft compound tyres which were the same Zapper C. Zapp C used to come befor too with pulsar 220/200 . But the new 220 came with the same zappC marketed as soft compound. So this made me think that they might have made the compound softer.

I am currently using Michelin pilot sporty 110/80-17 but due to repeated punctures i have put a tube inside it.So want to switch back to tubeless but dont want Michelin as they are very prone to punctures. So want to go back to MRF . But confused between Vyde and C. Visually C feels lot softer than vyde. But i am not sure. Will do a final check before i take the plunge

+1 The Zapper C on P220 Fi lasted 27-28k easy. On the P220 Carb, it barely crosses 20-22k km max. Even though the rest of the bike is almost the same. New Zapper C has much less life even on the P220 Fi's, so it is a good choice.

VYDE should also last a similar duration.

What bike do you have BTW?

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

I own a Pulsar 180 UG3. The stock tires were 100/90-17 . Now running on 110/80-17 Michelin pilot sporty. Changing to Zapper C/Vyde 120/80 mostly!

Do you have a 220 Fi or carb? Would u suggest vyde or C(new)?

                        • i want reviews of R15 rear tyre MRF Zapper S 100/80 -17, in terms of performance in wet traction nd wet braking and wet cornering. i want to use it in my P150 UG3, i am already using Zapper FY as front, which is R15 front tyre.

Zapper S does not have a central rib or central groove, does it affect wet traction and wet braking performance.

can anybody give review about Michelin Pilot Sporty rear tyre for wet traction, wet braking performance.

I got it here in Bangalore. I paid 3000 bucks but its lot cheaper than that.around 2.3k

performance is very good. especially in wet . in dry its on par with zap c .

only disadvantage is it is prone to puncture. I have had 4 till now. I of them started to leak and I was never able to fix it. so buying a new tire
