Pls feel free to provide any other inputs that you think may help in buying a good tire. Thanks.
PSD is light years better than Conti. They are medium compound stuffs. I made the biggest mistake by choosing CBR front tyre for my FZ.

There is Dunlop Tuff Grip available in CBR size (Medium-soft stuff).

No Michelin's available in 140/70 (Sirac is hard compound semi-button type ones on AJ's P220)

Which is medium? PSD or Conti? Both are hard compound just that PSD is negligibly soft compared to Conti

No; hard compound; there's no medium or soft compound tires available in the motorcycle tire market today

Michelin seems to be pathetic, atleast the one they showed me here on 100/90, bears Made in Brazil tag & is almost equivalent to MRF. Sirac...I don't know

        So zeroed to which one??

PSD vs. Conti>> Conti feels bulkier and heavy. PSD less contact path, more grip. More wet and dry grip than conti (All w.r.t FZ-16, not CBR). My FZ's cornerability greatly affected by Conti (Stock MRF was way better).

Above-mentioned compound statements were from tyre dealer, except Tuff Grip was said by one fellow user.

Michelin interested only in selling stock-sized 18 inchers now, phased out most of their good tyres like M45, Gazelle, even the Sirac (now only Sirac Street).

No way!!! PSD's are heavier than ContiGo; I actually took both the rear tires on my hand & there was no necessary for a weighing machine as it was clear cut evident.

I got to see Michelin's 100/90 & was almost or lower in quality than MRF!!!

There's a huge demand for imported tires in the country because of the Crankgress Govt's s*** policy on ISI marked tires (as if Bridgestone, PSD, Michelin are making worthless tires & ISI is the only organization in the world to certify safety!!! Damn it!!!)

              • Hi,
I am riding to Leh this June and want to replace the tires of my R15 with a suitable one for the Leh terrain. I'll be riding the bike from Jammu>Srinager>Leh>Manali>Chandigarh>Delhi.
Please suggest me hard compound, tubeless tires as they are self healing in punctures. I am not concern with the fuel economy because I'll replace them with the originals as soon as my trip is over. The important thing is, I am looking for reliable tires and appropriate handing in Leh terrain.
                Thenks.
                Henry

I meant the on-road feel on FZ, not real weight

                    • Karizma Rear Tyre upgrade

                      Hi

I hav Karizma zmr. Want to modify rear Tyre.

The company provided specification is 100/90-18 MRF Zapper Y.

Can I put MRF zapper Y 120/80-18 or MRF zapper Q 120/80-18 without removing anything(full or half chain cover)?

How it is going to effect the performance?

Please suggest as I am new in this area.

                      Thanks

                      • The 100/80 -17"

                        Hello Guys,

Had been to buy the Mrf 100/80 -17" for my Discover 125 (currently running 3"X 17" Ceat) I had to return empty handed as I have apprehensions if the 100/80 -17" will fit the rim. The showroom guy asked me not use a tube in a tubeless tire. What do you guys say, I am currently in Pune any place you guys can refer where I can pick the tire?

Also How many types of 100/80 -17" does MRF has the show room showed me two

one was the "S" the other "FX" IIRC.

                        Cheers,

                        Kiran

You can put any tyre that is fit for 18 inch diameter. for tyres above 110 you have to remove the chain cover.
Performance - A great improvement in handling in wet (If you are not again using the stock tyre), a slight decrease in mileage and top speed as most of the tyre other then MRF are heavier.

                            • Guys is there an issue if I use different tyres in front and rear and by different I mean different brands. Will it affect handling of the bike. Actually I am planning to change my front tyre as the rear was changed just 4-5kms back. I am planning to change my front tyre to PSD. Any idea about the price of PSD for front and ContiGo for front? BTW I have cbr250r and looking for 110/70-17 for front

                              • I have a tubeless tyre on my honda twister. I had a puncture about a year ago and that puncture had started leaking air. What would be the proper course of action? I went to a repair guy and he took out the old reapair rubber and put in a new one. Will that suffice?
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.
