Pilot sporty was such a piss off right from day one! To sliding in corners to back to back punctures! Had in total of 6 punctures with few more which i have'nt repaired! Tire did'nt last much too. Around 16-17k kms is what i rode. It could have lasted for another 3-4k But with the latest slide which almost costed my life, enough is enough!

I have'nt put much kms with sirac but from the breif 15kms ride i had, i was completly satisfied!

          • Need some help guys. My twister has done about 19k Kms. Now what I've noticed it that my front tire (or is it tyre) does not feel as grippy as it used to be. But on visual examination it appears to be fine with decent amounts of tread and groves left.

Coming to the rear tire, it has gone bald at the center. So is it a good option to change both of my tires or only the rear one. Also what options do i have. Im kind of happy with the stock front tire but the stock rear one lacked any kind of central groves.

for reference. my tire has lost about 1cm of threads on either sides of that bald patch

              • tYre!

@kedar3223: This is a common phenomenon with over inflated tyres-they lose grip in the center&do not wear out evenly.
I suggest you replace both tyres as a set, even though the front one might show some signs of life left in it. Handling&stability will differ when one tyre is new&the other is old!
All the best in new tyre selection-you can refer the previous discussions on best tyres for Twister as recommended earlier.

gawwwd....! Thats really sad.... Maybe the tire was defective... Bt trust me mine is so good.....corners like crazy and braking stability is awesum...... But yea puncture is an issue.... I am using a tube inside and changed it twice...got a new tube with the tire which had some 16-17 punctures and d mechanic pulled out more than 20 nails from the tire which got stuck.... And the second tube had 8-10 punctures. This is the third tube and final tube. 2 punctures yet bt i have no cmplain with grip...maybe i got a better tire...lol

                  • Please recommend me the best possible tyre for rear and front Pulsar 220 DTSI, here are few of my options,

Stock is a MRF 120/80-17 for rear.

There is a Sirac which is 120/90-17 but it looks heavy the bike might be a bit tall geared? Also it is not a tubeless.

There is a new radial tyre from MRF which i saw in JC road costs 4100/- which is 120/70-17, How good is that?

Also if i go for Pirelli Sports Demon which would be the best fit? 130/70-17 or 140/70-17, wont the low profile of 70 reduce the top end?

Hey, I just got myself a new set of Pirelli SDs a few days back. Here are my posts regarding my selection. Pirelli SD 130/80 & 100/80.

And some detailed pictures. Pirelli SD P220 side-by-side with CBR250 and original size tyre shod P220S.

And a 140/70 has almost the exact circumference as the 120/80 even though it's wider.

As for the grip, I never had any complaints about my MRFs but the Pirelli SDs are on a whole new dimension.

I went to cherry in JC road to get a bottle of motul they had only the 130/70 and 140/70, where did you get the 130/80 from? That size looks like almost the stock but being just a bit wider?

Also how long can i expect the pirellis to last? Atleast 15k?

Please update me with the shop details and the phone number if possible.

                          Thanks in advance..

I got the tyres from Millivision Marketing. They are right next to Lalbagh Main Gate in between the roads leading to Basanavagudi and JC Road, in the middle of the "Y" that these roads make actually.

They quoted a price of 3900 for the 140/70. The numbers are 26563863/41692863. Bear in mind they charge extra for card payments.

Edit: And they also do not have change tyre changing facilities, you have to do it at a tyre repair shop near them at the petrol bunk. 140 rupees for both tyres.

                              Here's a map.

                              • R15 rear tyre costs rs.3100 is it ok.And also the shop guy said the height of the bike ll get decrease bcz stock tyre height 80/100 17 but 100/80 17 on r15 tyre. Will this height affect the bike stability on high speeds. Bcz i'm plan is to buy Michelin Pilot sporty 100/90 17.
