    • Hi guys .. thanks for quick response.
I drive only in cities and highways.. sometimes leaning over corners at high speeds. I really like Zapper by MRF. Should I replace existing zapper with new one ?

If you are satisfied with Zapper, then go for it,otherwise Pirelli SD,Michelin Pilot Sporty etc are good choices.

        • Puncture Query

          Hello Guyz,

          I have a problem.
I ride a P220, and have changed the stock tyre after 24k kms to Pirelli Sport Demon.
Now after 10k kms on it, my rear tyre developed a puncture around 3 weeks back and sure was a big enough puncture(all the air was defalted). However the puncture guy somehow managed to seal the puncture.......but i noticed air was leaking reagularly. But since i was touring on weekends and my daily commute to office is 40 kms, thought this was normal.
Then two days back the tyre was totally defalted again. My brother took the bike to a puncture shop and the guy there said the puncture is too big to be sealed using the common tubeless puncture. He said the tyre will be useless unless we put a tube inside. Since there was no other option, i had to get a tube fitted inside the tyre. Now i am not comfortable with the fact that i have a tubeless tyre but no benefits of it.

Is there any other option to repair the puncture........

          • Guys, ordered Pirelli SD 140/70 for FZ but the dealer after 2-3 days told me to go for DURO tyres of the same size and the Pirelli not at all available in Kolkata , Therefore went for MRF ZAPPER VYDE 120/80-17, noticed minor increase in power delivery & grip is also good & also the height increased a bit. BUT don't know will it have a negative impact on my bike in the long term or any other issues.

            • Nothing to worry,Zapper vyde 120/80-17 is a very good tire and will offer you very good grips,Soft compound tires,But wears little faster than ordinary tires.

Only thing you compromise here is looks. Otherwise you will see improvement in power as well as mileage by some 2-4 kmpl. Your top speed will be higher than stock.

                • 120/80-17 zapper VYDE offers good grip for FZ there's no doubt, but what I wanna know is that Are there any bad effects like stressed engine, mileage, braking & the ultimate performance of my bike in the long term ....as i read in some earlier posts(can't remember) that sprockets are need to be changed for changing the tyre size, engine had some stress due to this...........so just worried

no yaar the looks are not bad at all, just looks a bit slimmer compared to stock but looks absolutely better then stock IMO

Now your bike is a bit taller geared than the stock, so on each rpm range you will be travelling more kms than stock bike i.e. before the change if you were doing 50 @ 4000 rpm now you will be doing some 54 @ 4000 rpm. The acceleration will be reduced and the to speed will be increased. To bring it back to stock, you can do sprocketing. If you are happy with the power output after the tyre change, then you dont want to do sprocketing.

Stress on the engine depends on the tyre weight too. If this VYDE is heavier than stock , then yes load on the engine increases.

As i said before, with lesser contact patch on road, expect slight improvement in mileage too. Braking depends on the compound of the tyre. With vyde, braking should be good as it is a soft compound. AFAIK it would not affeact the performance in long run.
