Im from Pune. Got it for 1850 from laxmi Tyres, near Mangala talkies, corporation area. They are MRF dealers and its difficult to find this tyre anywhere else.
thanks a ton bro.....but can u tell me exactly where it is...
is it between mangla talkies and modern cafe or between corporation bus stand and balgandharv???

and which bike u ride bro.......coz my pulsar need 100/90 i guess what was your bike's stock tyre size is it 100/80 or 100/90.....if it was originally 100/90...then do u feel any difference in top speed or RPM wise any difference in speed.

i know a few stretches in Bombay which guarantee a flat tyre.
with 100% results.
this is generally because puncture walas throw nails on road to get good business.....there is a similar road in pune also.

Getting my Fazer's tyres sealed!
Originally posted by xionite View Posti've used Slime Tyre Sealant. (for Motorcycles)
got mine from the US... but you do get them here too.
Hi there,
My Fazer's tyres (the rear one is worse) have developed leaks in their repaired punctures! According to the tyre repair shop, I should either get tubes into those tyres, or buy new ones! Also, the MRF (stock tyre manufacturers for Fazer MRF Revs) showroom guy mentioned that these MRF tyres are not a good fit for the bike and get frequent punctures and leaks from punctures!
Now, I was wondering if I should try these Slime sealants to seal the leaks, or buy new tyres? Putting in a tube seems dangerous! I am from Bangalore, and any guidance on tyre brand to use and where to buy along with price would be appreciated!
If I should buy the Slime sealant, where in Bangalore can I get it? And, the estimated price and quantity, etc would also be great!
Cheers,
Anup

[QUOTE=princesirohi;641326]is it 80/90-17 or 90/80-17....i guess it should be 90/80-17.

man, where did u get it....i was searching for this....?

NO. R-15 front is 80/90-17.
I have an RTR 180. Stock tyre sizes are 90/90-17 front and 110/80-17 Rear tyre.
Both my tyres are 10 mm less than stock in terms of width, profile is the same. Hardly any difference..infact bikes faster with better grip levels.
Got the Pirelli from Shivshambho tyres near Mkt Yard. Cost INR 2500/-
If you are going towards Balgandharva, you have to take a right turn just before the under bridge at the Bus Stand. Its a small shop and you should find it by the road.sigpic

and how many punctures have u had?
coz i've what i've heard from a few tyre dealers...
is that the FZ rear tyre is pretty resistant to punctures.
(compared to other MRF tyres & keeping in mind that your tyres are in good condition)
Slime usually works well if u get puncture while ur riding.
meaning... you need to be moving for it to auto-seal.
it doesn't work as well if you're stationary.
you cannot "fix" the leaks in your tyres now.
it works exclusively (from the inside of the tyre) at the moment the puncture occurs.Last edited by xionite; 06-03-2011, 04:29 PM..

So, is it not possible that I get this Slime gel filled, get some air, and ride on? That should do the trick, shouldn't it?

if the leaks aren't "big" it should work.
once fully inflated... how long does it take for you tyre to lose most of the tyre pressure??.

Any idea how much should it cost me? I live in Bangalore, so I'll probably need to hunt it down by myself! And, how much is an appropriate quantity?

I had recently gone to MRF tyre shop to get a tyre change. The guy there told me about a new way to get tubeless punctures fixed especially if there are multiple ones. It does a better job than the regular 'strip' puncture repair. So does not require you to change the tyre altogether. Known as Mushroom puncture patch. The guy there told me that a strip puncture repair costs 100 bucks, while a mushroom repair costs 130. I think this is me staying on topic. I just came to know this so felt like sharing here.
According to the attendant, strip punctures leak(due to extreme heat which makes them loose) and mushroom ones dont. @Adroit_91 You should try this.
I know the place this can be done in Pune... No idea about Bangalore. But do enquire about it at any big MRF dealership.Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
