And ceat tires are tubed arent they ?

My stock size is 120/80-17 rear and 90/90 front ..
If youre sure about the SDs lasting 15k kms then I might go in for 100/80 front and 130/70 rear !
But I need some Pirelli SD user to confirm the life of the tire in Indian conditions ..
As of now , i was kinda zeroing in on SD front and Sirac rear ..
Weird combo but it may produce some nice results !
my 130/80 sport demons are going strong run them for about 6000 km now still have a loy of life left in them should easilly stretch till 15000 km

+1^^ Especially if you put Sirac on your bike,Your acceleration, mileage, topend will decrease drastically. So if you need to upsize your rear tire,as Drifty said, try 110/90-18 Zapper Q.

      • Guys i own a p220 dtsi. After 11.5k kms on odo the irc (rear) is getting worser day by day so i planned to change my rear tyre.Which tyre will be the best for my p220,i wont mind spending money on good tyres but it should be a VFM thing which means i want them atleast 15k~20k kms.
My nature of riding:A normal commuter which rides on 70-80kmph(thatz because of irc and loves to ride fast),am not an offroader. But do occasional long trip with xbhp friends. Some of my friends suggest sirac but i have heard that it have an adverse effect on acceleration and topspeed. Is it true?
My experience with irc is very pathetic no grips at all itz sucks to the core so please dont suggest for an irc.
        Thanks

Yeah,Michelin M45 upto 3.0 Size can be used in front and rear according to the direction arrow given in the tire. But this is not applicable to Michelin M45 4.0.

May be.For example Michelin M45 lasts for 25-30k whereas Pirelli SD lasts only 15K.

Yes,You are right,Sirac will affect your bikes acceleration, mileage and topspeed because it is a heavy tire. There is no other tire to replace sirac,so if you wish to go for off roading, then there is no other option,go for Sirac and forget the cons.

Read this REVIEW of Sirac on pulsar 220.
                  Hope this helps.

                    • Re: Tyres

Need help with tyres for my RTR 180.

Am super confused with the options available. Am planning to upgrade from the stock tyres, without any mods to the bike. Budget right now is around 3k for both the tyres. Post the 1st, dont mind stretching it to 6-7 k. Important thing is excellent wet weather + gravel grip under extreme breaking. Based on various reviews IRC NR48 are the way to go, until I read a post in the tyres forum. So it would be great help if someone can advise good tyres, along with the approx rates in Navi Mumbai region. Thanks in advance. Also, sorry if this is repeat question. Basically, am looking for reviews from people around the Navi Mumbai region. Reason being similar riding conditions and all...

Zapper Vyde is also available in 120/80-17. Soft compound tires, wears little faster.

                          • I want to replace the front tyre of my Pulsar 180 UG1. It has 18" wire spoke wheels. I want to improve the bike's stability on the highway. What is the widest tyre I can use at the front? The current tyre is 3.00x18 Dunlop. Can I use 90/90x18 tyres without fouling with the mudguard clearance? I have been looking at the MRF Zapper FS. Any other brands I should consider? I will only be using the bike on city roads and highways. No offroading.

I think you can fix 90/90-18 without any problem, but Stick to 3.0-18,upgrading to bigger tires in front will spoil your handling,Just my thought. Buy a soft compound tire instead of hard compound one,it can offer you better grip than Zapper FS,May wear out little faster,Not so fast,If you consider Michelin M45 3.0 * 18,It will last up to 25-30K.
                              M45 3.0 * 18 on my karizma.

                              • are these sport demon prices ok ?

Guys I went to a pretty decent tire shop near my college (I stay in Bangalore and to all Bangaloreans, its HERCULES TIRES near pesit college on ring road ).
Found out the price of Pirellii sport demons. After a lot of negotiations , he brought it down to this
                                100/80 - 17 Rs 2500
                                130/70 - 17 Rs 3700
                                140/70 - 17 Rs 3900
I'm going in for the 100/80 for the front and im still deciding on the rear.
But are these prices alright for the SDs ? Will be finalizing this week
also I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me with how to make out a duplicate. As in apart from all the regular tire markings like week of manufacture , and other codes, is there something else I should be looking for ?
