leakage from the side walls of tubeless tyre
Hey guys i've been using IRC stock tyre on my P220 and bike clocked around 5700 kms. The problem i am facing these days is leakage from the side walls of the rear 120/80 IRC tubeless tyre. The tyre have been checked for this issue around 3 times and after sometime it started leaking again. The tyre wala now says that either use a tube or chang the tyre but i don't wanna use tube and my tyre is pretty much new and treads are almost as new so my heart and pocket both don't really want to change it. Can anyone tell me what to do now?? Do i have to change tyre??

With nearly 11,000 kms on the odo on my 4-month old 220, the rear tyre is wearing out faster than I had expected. Primarily I attribute that to the nonstop 800+ kms that I did this month. [ Total trave 3200 kms, 1600 kms with average speeds of 80kmph and 1600 kms with average speeds of 60kmph. Speeds mostly done were above 100 at good tarmac roads in daytime, in moderately hot weather conditions]
11k is okay, a bit short for tyre life but IRC's for me performed satisfactorily even in wet. Although since I am going to go for a tyre change in another 2k kms (which shall be piled up in a short amount of time) why not go for something better.
Options I've come down to are :-
MRF Zapper Vyde (120/80-17) ? (not sure of tyre specs)
Michellin Sirac (120/90-17)
I don't mind if the gearing gets taller due to this. I just want the ability to cruise better at higher speeds without endangering myself.
Would like to the cost of both the tyres, and where I can get them in Bangalore.
I am near Bangalore and will travel to Bangalore for purchasing the tyres.Which tyre is suited for long distance trips and will last at least 10k kms ? [at speeds above 80kmph while touring, cause that how most of the miles are piled up on the odometer on my bike.]Last edited by Xenologik; 11-02-2010, 04:19 AM.A man's testosterone level is directly proportional to bhp that he's using on his motorcycle.

New Tyres for GS150R
Hi all,
I am looking to change tyres on my 15k run GSR. Recently have had a couple of low speed crashes on gravel because of which have lost confidence in the stock mrf zappers.
Which one would you recommend for grip on gravel/muddy roads.
And also, I want to stagger the purchases. So which one should I buy first - front or rear.. I predominantly use the front brakes only. Rear only 10%.
For now I have shortlisted the Michelin M62 for the front (2.75 x 18) and Sirac Street (100/90/18) for the rear. Can anyone share their experiences with these tyres with me..
Thanks & Regards
Srinivas
