You can also try Michellin sirac. Its also a very very good tyre.
Well, I already have my heart set on Pirelli. It's just a matter of when. Can't find a comparable tubeless product from Michelin, which was of course, my other choice.

Well, I hope the extra horses in my 220 can handle it better than your 200.

        • FAQ About Tyres!

          Hello! Everyone

I Have an Important update, The prices for tyres have recenlty gone high in the recent times, I am not very sure about why they have incereased. But NO Front Tyre is less than 1200/- or 1300/- Rupees and Rear range starting from 1700/- INR plus the Fitting charges and Steel Nozzle if you opt for then instead of the Regular Stock Black one!

I was going through the tyres thread and had a look on some common and major kind of questions that anyone may have in his/her mind(realatively less i take it ).

          Q) Can I put an over Size tyre?
Yes Why not If You want to kill your Bike
Everyone thinks to put a broader tyre, we think that "The persons sitting in the R&D are idiots" , they dont know what they using as a tyre.
If you are not satisfied by the old tyres grip you can upgrade to some other option may just one size up that should do fine.
Well but before that do not forget to really test the tyre to its extreme limits first. but that does not mean hurt yourself in it. Be Sensible

          Q) Shall I put Michellin or Pirelli or IRC? My question to you is: "Why not MRF or ceat??"
These are all International Tyre Makers they are themselves perfect in making tyres,Why do they make separate tyres for indian automotive scenario?
The Reson is: Most of their tyres are soft compund tyres and are not suitable for the kind of roads here, that is then why they make a tyre separately for INDIA.
Now the question arises,"Why Not MRF or CEAT?"
MRF has been in the production of tyres since time more than 90% of us were even born. NO, NO, NOoo!! I dont work for MRF or CEAT, but just when they are in the market why not to use it!
All the others are awesome in performance, but are you using for what they are actually made.
Use Sirac,or Michelin soft compound,IRC on a Race Track, you will know the kind of tech that they use.

          Q) What is the difference between Hard Compound and Soft Compound tyers.
This simple diagram explains the made up of Hard and soft compound tyres, henceforth comes the difference between their performance and the level of their wear and tear.

          Q) Tyres change on a Brand new bike?
Why does everyone want to change the tyres on a brand new bike be it any bike, until and unless you are and expert rider. I have seen people ruiding on stock tyres for more than 35k kms and still going on,even if the stock tyre has gone bald from the centre,I reaplced my tyre at 32k when it started to leave the grip in rains. The people who chose the tyre to be there in your bike would be more than twice as qualified as you might be and have the expirience close to your age.
If you consider yourself expert and you need not to ask anyone here then go and get it changed.

          Q) Life of Tyres.?
I am not sure as of how to answer this kind of question,it depends on the kind of riding and your usage. Taking everything in a hypothetical situation ifff you ride normally.
A Tyre from MRF,Dunlop,Metro Continental,CEAT will last approx 30-35k easlily and SOFT Compound like IRC,Michelin,Pirelli would last for 10-12k or even 15k.

          Q) can Tubeless tyress be used as Tube Type?
Yes Definately you can use it until the tyre is in one piece and usable condition.

          Q) Front Tubeless?
17" , Front now days we have lot of options, Nylo Zapper FS 80/90,90/90,70/100(This is The Latest one not even one month old), CEAT Secura Zoom, Dunlop 3.00 x 17 ,so many are there now a days.

          Q) Air Pressure?? Nitrogen in Tyres.
Really in my humble opinion you should go by 25 and 35 PSI for Front and Rear Respectively.
But if you find it a bit unstable you can choose 22 and 32 PSI,Resp and in summers too as the climate is a Bit HOT.

Nitrogen: (Now,this is an intelligent question I must say.) Nitrogen can be used to inflate tyres ,it does not do any harm to it, rather the tyre runs cooler and the handling improves as the tyre becomes a bit heavier, second once you get this done, you may not go to the air station uptil next 12months.

          Q) Questions About Slime? What is it ? How to use? -ve aspects? Affecting tyre life? Handling?
Very Few people know about this,I am not a so called gyaani for this, but what I can tell is by exprience.
Slime is availaible in delhi in khan market and comes for approx 250/- a can which can be used like 10 times. You just have to place the can's nozzle and press it like a deo and it will fill the tyre with some sealent.
you dont have to put the complete bottle in the tyre just a small amount of it.

Slime is a NON_Aerosol product and enviorment freindly.
What happens when a tyre containing slime gets punctured, and the air is escaping, and the tyre is rotating the centrifugal force pushes the sealant into the tread area creating a layer of proetction in the opening and preventing the air to escape and you to stand in the midst of your journey.

2 Points I have to make where you are particularly incorrect.

It is not that foreign branded tyres are not suitable for Indian Roads. The mileage ( Tyre Life ) you get from imported brands is slightly lesser than the Indian Brands. Therefore companies like MICHELIN are introducing tyres engineered specially for India offering not only the same level of grip, comfort, stability and confidence but also an enhanced tyre life. The tyres which are in foreign brands portfolio are the tyres that they sell in rest of Asia, where tyre life expectation by a customer is <15K

The second part which is incorrect, is clubbing the tyres like SIRAC, Michelin Soft Compound tyres and IRC together and that too on a race track. SIRAC is OFF ROAD and ON Road tyre from MICHELIN portfolio. It is never intended to be used for racing, nor will it perform on a race track. You need Hypersport, Sport Premium tyres for a race track like the MICHELIN Power One, Michelin Pilot Power 2CT etc ( check out under Home - motorcycle.michelin.in ).It would be therefore grossly incorrect to refer to tyres you mentioned in a generic sense.

                      Hi Go green!
i remember you have said in this forum that michelin is planning to bring out tyres in 17 ". its more than 2 months now and there's no news of the tyre. i own a 220 and my bike needs a tyre replacement badly.I know sirac comes in 120/90 but dont want to go for it becoz Iam very short and when i tried my friends sirac clad 220 i had a torrid time keeping my foot down.
if michelin is planning tyres in 17" in the stock size of 220 i can wait for 2 more months.if it takes longer I may have to look at other choices. so kindly plz update us with any information on this.

                        • quick question

need to replace front tire on pulsar 150 classic.

am getting aftermarket alloys and am switching to tubeless.

wanted to know what is the maximum width tire i can git inside the stock classic pulsar mudguard.

i want the widest possible cause i want more grip, fuel efficiency doesnt matter

i think the maximum i can install is a 3.00 x 18 tire. (most probably mrf)

i was told that i cannot put the 90/90x18 tire cause it will not fit inside the mudgurad

just wanted to confirm these things

                          thanks in advance
