I want to replace my bike's rear tyre (treads have got lost and its almost bald!!) with a wider one and seek inputs from you.
The stock rear tyre is 3.00 - 18. How do we get to know the width and profile (tyre side height) from this info? What does 3 signify here?
Can I fit in a 100/90x18 Zapper or 100/80x18 on to the rear? Which one would be good? Will it affect the performance/ handling/ mileage?
Please suggest !!
My bike details:
DLX, bought July/2006
Kms run: 14,500
Responses would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Ride safe!
Abhishek
In 3.00 18, Michelin has M45, M35 and M62 patterns. You can check out the website Home - MICHELIN for more details on its products.

Is the cost right?
Hi Friends,
I recently got MRF Zapper Vyde 120/80-17 on rear of my P180 for 2800. It was urgent as my rear tyre now completed 3years 2 months and 27k kms. Also I had a trip planned to jog falls from bangalore i.e. 400kms same weekend.
Is the price correct or was i looted?
Also planning to change the front to MRF stock -90/90-17. what is the cost for the same?Bikes Owned:

sirac 120/90 is a direct fit on 220,no touching of swingarm reported in 220.
sirac has a higher profile than the stock 220 rear so it makes the 90/90 front tyre look very skiny in comparision. a lot of guys are using the FZ's 100/80 front tyre with it or you can also opt for 100/80 from IRC, vee rubber which you can find in Karol bagh( saw this tyre @ globe tyre ,near chopra helmet shop on ARYA samaj road)
for dealers in Delhi check this link
Find Your Dealer / Buying Guide / Home - MICHELINOriginally posted by GoGreen View PostYou can contact BK Tyres in Lajpat Nagar New Delhi ( Ph : 9810430202 ). He is an authorized Dealer of Michelin. For P220, it will not touch the swingarm. 120/90 17 Sirac is the right tyre for you.

Am using the same combo on my splendor. MRF RIB 2.75-18(has run 112k kms) with honda tuff up tube. no punchture's tilldate!07 HH Zma

3.25-18 in place of 3.00-18

Thanks for your reply. The visit to the Michelin India website was informative. Can i fit in 3.25-18 tyre in my bike, since I wanted to have a wider cross section tyre? Would it affect the handling/ performance?
Thanks,
Abhishek M
