    • I need new tyres for my yamaha G5 which i bought from a friend, its is still running on stock tyres(on spoke wheels),i want to

change both tyres.I am looking for soft compound tyres for good grip and can last at least 10k kms.
My budget is 4k for both.

My other bike TVS victor have "MRF 90/90X18 Zapper Q" at rear and "2.75X18 MRF Zapper FV" at front which are good in dry

condition, but just ok in wet roads.

      Wheel size of Yamaha G5

      Front: 2.75X18
      Rear: 3.0 X18

Can i increase the rear tyre size to 3.25X18 to improve looks & grip without any modification? any safety issues by doing so?

Whats the correct upsize for my rear tyre 3.25X18 or 3.50X18? I need WIDER tyre at the back.

I have decided on Michelins M45 for rear but what size?
and also please suggest which tyre i should put in front for good grip.

      My usage:

50% on wet super slippery winding roads
      40% dry roads
      10% on loose gravel.

      • @splitsecond: You can go upto 100/90/18" for the rear without any modifications. This would reduce the topspeed&mileage marginally, but will offer much better road grip. Choice of tyre is left to you.

That will take care of 90% of your needs. Gravel needs different kind of tyres.

Try Sai Iyengar and give him my reference.

For the rear, 120/80 18 Sirac or better still T63 ( If you can find it ). Good Offroad and On Road grip. Few tyres can match performance in mountain terrain.

Better depends on what suits your requirement better. M35 is excellent on wet and dry roads which are smooth. M45 is overall suited better for slightly bad roads also.

MRP for 3.25 18 in BLR is 1740 ( inclusive of tax , not including tube price ) ( Existing tube of 3.00 18 size can be used )

Considering there are a lot of bikes out there with a 17 inch rim!

                            Soon = x months?

In the market for something like a 90/90 or 100/80 in 17". If Michelin India has something coming up pretty soon I'd rather wait and get that.
