Check out the April Edition of Bike India Magazine. On page 82, they have an article for the ride to Himachal across various surfaces like mud and snow as well. Leh ride will have similar surfaces.

      • Guys suggest me a good rear tyre for P220? Heard MRFs are hard to find these days. How much does the Sirac cost at Chennai?

P.S: I want a tyre for touring purpose.

u def need to change the tyres... dont know why the tyrewala would say dont... after all they would loose business
yeo, post the pics of ur tyres, we can have a better idea then...
wht is ur current average ???
I would suggest IRC too, MRF and IRC both are good tyres... sirac though is used for 220's... and never never go for TVS eurogrips... alro keep gearing ratios in mind... a thicker tyre changes the ratios...

The P150 Classic has spoked wheels. Unless you have changed them to alloys, you cannot go for tubeless tyres as the spoked wheels cannot provide an air-tight chamber.

                    • My woeful luck with my R15s rear tyre continues. Even after putting a tube in last week I get no peace. Suffered a puncture over the weekend caused by a small cut on the tube and today morning when I wheeled the bike out I saw that it again had a puncture. Its done only 137xx kms.

Time to change the rear tyre. Looking at options to the MRF rear in case it is unavailable / over priced.

Met a guy in office today who has put a tubed MRF Nylogrip 100/90 Pulsar tyre on his rear. He says its held well for a year and it cost him Rs 1600. And best of all no punctures till date . Wouldnt mind going in for this if the grip is good. Is this the P220 tyre ? Any suggestions ?

Another option is the Pirelli 100/80/17 which is available for Rs 1900 from Autoqueen, Cochin. Has anyone tried this ? Any feedback ?

Is this the Pirelli Sport Demon? Can we have some more details like what is the compound, tread pattern etc.?
This could be a good alternative but we need to evaluate carefully!
