Possiblility is there. I test rode the interceptor for 100Kms and the GT for 20kms, Will update my POV ASAP.

Aren't they the same engine with the same tune?

The difference is expected. Dyno tests mostly are dependent on the bike, the dyno, the operator, the ambient conditions a whole load of stuff. Rolling roads are the least indicative of true power, as it is measured so far from source. Quite different readings can be had from the same bike, on the same rollers, by the same dyno tester, on the same day, as little as twenty minutes apart, with the differences attributable to little more than how the bike was strapped down, how the drive chain has slacked off, or the transmission oil has frothed up, or how the air temperature has changed or the amount of oxygen in the workshop has reduced between runs.

This might help you : Comparison in Dyno Results from Different Dynamometers

Wow, I didn't know there were so many factors affecting the power output. I thought they were running a different tune altogether, hopefully we'll see a better run once the bikes start rolling out into the market and not to mention a small bump with aftermarket exhausts. :-D

Yeah, Spoke to the showroom owner and managed to test ride the bikes exclusively for our group of fellow riders in a location we choose. Myself and one other friend took the bike from the showroom early morning and returned it by 1pm afternoon on a saturday. It was fun.

Wow, lucky you! Meanwhile I'm still waiting for the test drive bike although they got the bike and registered it too. Its unavailable. The official reason is "Sir, the bike has went for a Telengu movie shoot official orders from Chennai so we couldn't refuse."

What they are doing is really sick. Dont worry patience is the key when it comes to Royal enfield

These 650 twins are THE motorcycles to get in India for the time being.

                      Cheers!
Thank You for this write up.

Whats your take on the seats? Especially that of the INT650?

If you dont mind me asking, curious to know your height. This is to get an idea of the seat height.

Hi, I'm little bit above 6ft tall.

I kinda liked the slightly stiff seat of the GT but the Interceptor seat felt soft and a bit narrow.

Though honestly I think you need atleast an hour of riding to really judge the seats.

                        Cheers!

                          I am 5'11".

The seat on the Interceptor is wide enough to let you sit on the saddle for longer rides comfortably. Felt a bit hard when compared with GT but quite manageable.
The seat on the GT is narrower that the INT650. This is may be because of the seating posture and the foot pegs position. Surprisingly, the seat is softer than the INT650 but I wouldn't feel comfortable for longer distances and longer KMS.
