    Better late than never!

Besides, I upgraded from Caliber 115 to GS, and couldn't be more happy.

Anyways, thanks a ton for your tip regarding the way to drive the bike. As such I have been driving my bikes since last 10 years, but I never knew this fact that the mileage depends on how one drives the bike .

being critical hasn't made you wiser, has it?

else you could have gone for a bigger crash-guard, available across everywhere and not posted the query

with all the things u asked for the list is as follows along with pro's and con's-

          1. gs 150r - a very good allrounder and a very good alternative to the unicorn. 6th gear will help u as u said u'll be doing highway run's.the digi console in spoton with variable ride control switch. the only draw back is the dealer network, which is not very large.and i don't know abt the service at the existing one's.

2.pulsar 150 - 2010 model has been tweaked up t0 15bhp with a new carb and new intake and exhaust manifolds.also will be featuring clipon's.and i guess i don't have to tell u abt the performance, very satisfying, and will definately meet all ur requirement's.but is very very common.

3.unicorn - used it for 5 years and it ticks all ur boxes exept the digi console.but i guess there will be a sports version comin soon, but this will not be stopped and will continue ( like the shine).very relayable and is butter smooth, the upright seating like the gs150 r is a boon on the highways along with the mono suspension.

4.apache - u'll definately get 50+ milage on the highways along with great performance. but not as comfy as the above.also some have some vibe isuses in the handle bars which is irritatin durin long drives.

5.Pulsar 180 - all virtues of the 150 (including look's,now that the 150 also has clipon's) but faster along with lesser milage.

6.rtr 180 - since milage is one of ur priorities,i guess the 180's do not match up to the 150's but r not that behind. look into the ownership threads since u have 80k budget.

7.hh hunk and extreme - well my friends have both of them and i can say this- there is only one "unicorn" and can never be referred to as peppier version of the unicorn. they r good in their own way on the performance front and look fresher than the uni,but the milage is a mixed bag. also they do not have didgi console's.

              Sorry guys

I was in Dubai for 2 months for an assignment
              Came back today only.
I checked out the Unicorn Dazzler on this website. Its a real beauty with some changes in the Mill of the Old uni.
So now the confusion is between the GS and the Dazzler.
Rest all bikes have been eliminated from my list.
              TD is not done yet.

                Hi dhwanit811

It is good that you have brought down your choices to two bikes. As far as reliability is concerned I don't think you will have a problem with both the bikes since both Honda and Suzuki are known for them. Suzuki GS is a great bike from the company. It has got optimum perfomance with decent mileage. My only concern would be regarding the service and spares. I guess suzuki parts are marginally costlier than the competition price tag.The best part of this bike is its engine. Not to forget it has a 6-speed gearbox which boosts cruising capabilities.

As for the Honda Dazzler, since the bike is not out much it would be too fast to comment anything. Guess it is also a 6-speed(I ain't sure). But one thing is for sure. Since it is the same engine from the Uni I guess the engine will be great and I expect it to give mileage 50+. The bike also looks bulky and the design diffrent from the 150cc bikes we have now. I am impressed anyway. Take a test drive and then decide.

I could have suggested some other bikes too but since you have narrowed down your choice it is well and good.

Do check about the service with the locals.

                Choose wisely......

                150cc doing 100+ is great!
                100cc doing 100+ is awesome!!
150cc cornering like hell is great!
100cc cornering like hell is awesome!!

However when I read the GS150 Ownership threads, I found that the Mileage is inconsistent and there are some rust related issues. So I would like to know from the GS150 owner members whether this problem has been rectified in the new batch or not?

As far as the Uni is concerned, I believe that it needs an upgrade like other bikes in the 150 cc segment. It looks quite dated, else, I loved the engine & the performance.

Does anyone have any news or idea regarding HMSI upgrading the Unicorn or introducing the Sports Version of the Uni displayed in the Auto Expo held at Delhi?
Check out both Dazzler and GS.GS most of issues have been resolved rusting and all and also anyone having that issue are getting full replacement of parts if any.but the 2010 model of GS doesn't have that issues.

Dazzler is a upgrade over uni in looks engine is same as uni a bit tweaked test drive Dazzler and compare it with GS.

GS will beat Dazzler in comfort for sure and if you are driving in highways will recommend it.

                  Take test ride and decide

Edit: Dazzler is 5speed and Spare parts are a bit expensive for both Honda and suzuki. But service network is not that gr8 of zuki.

80% of your confusion will go once you test drive.Dazzler is like currently a 2/3 baked cake we can surely comment on some things like engine but other things can't since the bike is new.

as a highway tool, the GS will surely beat the dazzler. But if you look at the overall package, the dazzler surely sounds like a good deal.fit and finish is just superb and i'm in love with it's minimalistic meter console.with the fantastic engine retuned, and bits like rear disc et all,the dazzler sounds like a winner
It all begins with a thumb-start -- Oh, wait, I forgot the kill-switch

Thanks for the great comments and suggestions.

The confusion is that the Dazzler has been recently launched and so far it has not been tried and tested. Although it has the same old Uni Mill with a better tuning, I guess it has to be tested.

On the Other hand, the GS is a fine wine, but then, Suzuki has been an IN and OUT type of a player, which might discontinue the product or the company altogether in India (This is purely my opinion).

Honda on the other hand has still continued its products (Say the Unicorn).

But come what may, I will have a TD and will go for one of these two.
